All peer support and counselling at Counter are provided by Star Spider. My deep understanding of psychological manipulation and coercive control comes from years of personal experience, extensive formal education, and independent research. I’m currently studying philosophy and psychology at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), blending academic knowledge with personal insight.

Through Counter, I offer peer-based support to help individuals navigate the challenges of psychological manipulation and coercive control. My approach focuses on emotional support, guidance, and empowerment. While I’m not a licensed therapist, my services provide a confidential, safe space for discussing your experiences and developing strategies for communication, connection, and recovery.

I’m dedicated to helping you regain control and find clarity through my unique combination of lived experience and academic expertise.

Services

Prevention Consultation

Preventing psychological manipulation and coercive control starts with understanding the signs before they escalate. In our Prevention Consultation, I’ll work with you, your family or your business to identify potential risks and develop practical strategies to protect yourselves. Whether you're concerned about a particular situation or want to be proactive, we’ll go over key warning signs, strengthen your communication skills, and build a plan that suits your unique needs. This service empowers you to stay one step ahead and maintain healthy boundaries in your relationships.

Individual Recovery Support

Recovering from the impacts of psychological manipulation and coercive control is tough, but you don’t have to do it alone. My Individual Peer Support sessions offer a safe and supportive space where we can work together to rebuild your confidence and regain control over your life. We’ll focus on what matters most to you—whether it’s improving your communication skills, reconnecting with your community, or finding a renewed sense of purpose. Each session is tailored to your specific journey, helping you move forward with understanding and empowerment. I’m here to support you every step of the way, whether you prefer to meet online or in person.

Family Support

When a loved one is facing psychological manipulation or coercive control, it can be hard to know how to help. My Family Support service is designed to guide you through this challenging time. Together, we’ll work on recognizing the signs, understanding the dynamics at play, and developing effective strategies to support your loved one. We’ll also focus on building strong communication within your family and creating a clear action plan. Whether you’re looking to intervene early or support someone already affected, I’m here to help your family navigate these difficult situations and stay united.

Referral Service

Finding the right help when dealing with psychological manipulation and coercive control can be overwhelming, but I’m here to simplify the process for you. My Referral Service starts with a thorough assessment of your situation, allowing me to tailor a plan that connects you with the best professionals and services for your needs. Whether it’s legal advice, mental health support, or community resources, I’ll make sure you’re connected with the right people. If you need extra support, I also offer post-assessment services, including a detailed action plan and direct communication with service providers to ensure you get the help you need. My goal is to make sure you’re not navigating this journey alone—you’ll have the right resources and support to move forward with confidence.
